The FUTURE is FEMALE

Bow and Arrow Brewing is lighting up in brewery game. These intelligent, creative and inventive women are making waves and moving mountains for all women and Native Americans πŸ™ŒπŸ½

Shyla Sheppard and Missy Begay opened doors in 2016 and have been on a non-stop journey of brewing amazing beer, creating distinctive label art, contributing to their community, all while being the kick-ass women running the show.

In 2021 they launch Native Land beer which is a collaborative effort to brew a beer, paying homage to the ancestral lands and putting funds back to Native communities. What started as a soft-launch in their brewery has quickly become an industry effort. To date, there are 53 breweries, spanning 24 US states and 1 Canadian Province that are participating. If there is one thing I know, Shyla and Missy are going far in this industry. But, honestly, I’m not surprised. Women have been low-key dominating the brew industry for many years! It’s time for women to get the recognition they deserve ✨

Looking back, I was initially drawn to the brewery because of their super sweet beer labels. Bow and Arrow produces some of the most aesthetic label art I have seen in the last 5 years. Their labels are colorful, simple, at times linear, and respectfully designed and a tribute to their culture. As a designer and beer lover myself, these are top qualities I look for in a can design. Fast forward to when I tried their beer... Love at first sip! Heart skipped a beat. No coming down from this high. All the cliches one can say about love. Now, I am fully invested in their brewery, their community work, and their on-going success to continue this amazing community beer journey.

Side note: my buddies went to the brewery and took some dope pics for me, while grabbing me beer and a new beer glass!! The best people in life bring you beer. Remember that! 🍻
