This needs no declaration, but I am making one anyway because sobriety and choosing me should be celebrated. This year I am participating in #SoberOctober! I know I don’t drink much anymore, and fall beer is the best beer, and it’s whiskey-outside-weather, but, none of that matters if I am not feeling well.

My life has taught me from a young age that everything changes and we have to find ways to thrive in the unknown. Today, I am walking away from my trauma but I am also walking away from my security, my stable income, my promotion, my community, and everything I have worked for in Pennsylvania to move to Massachusetts.

This chapter of my life is called Hawk of Hope. Hawks have shown up for me consistently since 2023 – what I consider my darkest year. Between health issues and heartbreak, I reached the depths of my sadness and had to find my hawk of hope in each day.

Let’s change the world with kindness and beer. I’m partnering with Feeding PA, PA Eats and Breweries of PA to raise funds for 1.2mil people in PA dealing with food insecurity.
